ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Nola Heidbreder and Linda Pietz
Nola Heidbreder has been teaching fiber art and handwork both across the country and from her studio in St. Louis, Missouri, for more than twenty years. She has written articles and projects for Mary Englebreit's Home Companion and Rug Hooking magazine, contributed to the popular book Finishing Hooked Rugs, and has appeared on local and national television. Linda Pietz learned to knit at the age of four and has spent more than 40 years passing along her love of knitting and other crafts through classes and workshops. She designs patterns for Bucilla, Dimensions, Cat’s Cradle, and other companies and has been featured in several books, including Gourds + Fiber. Linda has written articles for Rug Hooking Magazine and other national magazines. She currently lives in northern California. In addition to co-authoring Crochet Baskets and Knitted Baskets for Spring House Press, Nola and Linda have collaborated to create Knitting Rugs: 39 Traditional, Contemporary, Innovative Designs and Crocheting Rugs: 40 Traditional, Contemporary, Innovative Designs. In 2013, they completed “Hooking the Presidents”, an amazing collection of rug-hooked portraits of all 44 Presidents that toured the country and received media attention both locally and nationally.
